Lydia's Christmas cards and Gift Box

This is one of Lydia's mini Christmas cards for her friends. They were made in a hurry last night for her to bring to school today, so the photos were taken in a rush too.
She bought one of her friends a beautiful butterfly keyring and as it didn't come with any packaging, we made a little box rather than just wrapping it. The Christmas card is made with Bazzill kraft cardstock and the chipboard snowman on the card and box is cut out with the Cuttlebug.

I have finally finished all of the teacher's gifts and cards and will put the photos up later. I didn't have time to make my own Christmas cards this year, so for the first time in ages I had to go and buy some. Ah well, better that than not sending any at all!

Sugar Nellie - Hamish

It's my little nephew's birthday today so it's a change from making christmas cards :)

I've had this stamp for ages and I love it. The Harlequin paper is by Artic Frog and I embossed the red card with a circles cuttlebug folder (can't remember the name!) The number 5 is cut with the red tag sale die and the embossed score lines are done with the scorpal. The image is coloured with Koh-i-Noor pencils.

Thanks for looking :)

Christmas tree card

Another A5 card again, I never really make this size as I always thought it too big to fill but I think I'm getting used to it.

The Christmas tree is a Little Claire stamp which I stamped and cut out with the circle nestability die. I stamped it again on white card, coloured it with Koh-i-Noor pencils, cut it out and layered on top of the other tree with silicone glue. I curled the leaves/branches? under a bit before sticking down. Then using a quickie glue pen I put glue along the edges and sprinkled with iridescent glitter. A few gems were added to finish it off.

The sentiment is computer generated using impervious font.

Meryl if you happen to be looking at this, I hope it gets to you on time!! Posting it today...

Little Penguin

Another quick little card.

The penguin was originally placed without the snowflake behind it but while mum was here she didn't realise the stickles glitter glue was still wet and she lifted it. The red pen came off his scarf and onto the card!!! I wiped it off with a baby wipe and put the snowflake behind him to cover it up :)

The background is embossed with the cuttlebug snowflake folder and the stamps are Hero Arts.

Christmas card and Gift box using K & Co papers

This is an A5 size card made to order so I hope the person likes it! I always worry in case I get it all wrong :o

The papers are K & Co and the baubles are cut from the paper and the middle one is slightly raised with foam pads. The red card is embossed with the baubles cuttlebug folder.

The top of the box is scored across and lengthways using the scorpal board and the edges are punched with the EK Success scalloped scallop punch.

Hopefully more tomorrow....xx

1st Christmas card of the year....

Close up

I am so behind this year with Christmas it's unbelievable!

I don't think I'm going to get many cards made this year for I still have the (12 December) desktop calendar class to prepare for and 5 teachers/assisants gifts to do as well....

This is a simple little card with stamping and punching. The snowflake is punched and heat embossed with stardust embossing powder, then tied to the card with white fibres.

Toilet Roll Holder Mini Scrapbook Album - Little Girl

Hi again! I’ve been finishing this Toilet roll book for the next class on Saturday 14th.
LOTS OF PHOTOS.....

Top View

Front Cover

Nappy Pin Button

The theme is ‘Little Girl’ and because not everyone coming to the class has a baby girl/granddaughter/niece I thought they could do a book on themselves, so I made this little book about....me

I have never scrapped anything about myself as a child before so mum had a good look through all the old photos and these are what she came up with. The earliest she could find were of me at 4 months. It was so funny looking at them and Phoebe is convinced they are photos of her!! The quality/condition of them is very poor but I think they scanned pretty well and now I have a book to pass on to my children :)

The front and back covers are chipboard and the inside pages are 4 toilet roll tubes flattened and painted. Then covered with My Minds Eye Whirlybird papers and embellished with chipboard pieces, gems, flowers, stamps, ribbon etc. It was great fun to do and I just have 4 tags to make and decorate with quotes and journaling and it’s all done!

Thanks for looking :)

Ps. I have a place left in the class if anyone’s interested….

Thank you card with Basic Grey papers

Close up of 3D flower

Hi again!

I had a fab day on Saturday, but the day flew by too quickly. Everyone got most of their books completed and from what I hear they all put the finishing touches on at home that night :) Well Done!! I've just started to make the toilet roll book for the next class which is on Sat 14th November.

Mum asked me to make her a thank you card for the hotel which catered for her 'cousins' get together on Saturday night. They had a fantastic evening and the meal was excellent.

This card is made with Basic Grey Urban Couture papers and the flower is a Wendy Vecchi stamp (I love these stamps!) The sentiment is a Daisy Bucket stamp and I also used distress inks. The colours remind me of autumn :)

Thanks for looking x

A CD Mini Scrapbook Album

I'm having an all day Craft Class on Saturday (17th) to make this little CD book.
It's made by covering compact discs with paper and embellishing them. The holes are punched with a cropadile and the pages held together with book rings.

sarahmcards@hotmail.com I can give you all the details :)

It's got lots of detail so should keep you busy! I've really enjoyed making it and I hope you will too.

The key is cut out of shrink plastic with a Sizzix die and melted down to size with a heat gun.

Chipboard and Acetate Mini Scrapbook - Little Boy

Lots of photos! (sorry for the poor quality - it's a very dull and wet day today...)

The journaling inside

This little book is a record of all the things Caleb loved from birth to five and the title is 'A little boy's world'. I made it in January and love to look at it now and again. I'm amazed at the things I have forgotten about him (I'm glad now that I included extra journaling pages of his little quirks at each stage :)

The album is a Woodware Chipboard and Acetate book and the papers are Cosmo Cricket - Cogsmo. I made a box to keep it in and covered it with matching papers. Hope you like it :) xx

Neglecting my blog......

Hi again!
After all I said about keeping up to date with this blog, I have been later and later at updating my posts..... I'm sure you don't want to hear about ironing piling up and housework etc...... but seriously though I have been working on stuff but haven't anything finished yet to show. I've nearly finished the cd book for my next class so will post photos of that in the next few days.

This is a little card I made for mum and dad to give to my little great-niece (in April...I was digging through past photos and found it!)

I used some striped paper that came free with a magazine. The sentiment is printed on the computer and the duck is stamped on pink card and chalked then raised on foam pads. I added some pink grosgrain ribbon and punched 3 small hearts. Quick and easy!

Thanks for looking and I'll be back soon!
