Treat bag

You might need sunglasses to look at this it's so bright!

It is a little box with handles, so could it be called a box bag? It's made from a sheet of card, scored, cut and folded to make a box. Then add ribbon handles and decorate. I cut the words 'for you' with the Craft Robo.

Thanks for looking!

And more....

Last but not least….

I’ve finally got the last card done :) and mum is very happy with it, thankfully! I used white paper flowers (this was all I had in that small size) and sponged them with ColorBox pigment inks to tone in with the background paper. I did the same with the small strips of cream card at the corners. The sentiment is computer generated (Saginaw font) and I sponged around the edges of it as well.

This is a terrible photograph, the colours on the card are more muted shades and not the horrible red this shows, but I am useless with a camera so it will have to do!

Designer paper K&Co Classic K McKenna

2nd Anniversary Card

I managed to get the card made and I love it!! It's very simple, quick & easy to make :)

The stamped image is Heidi Grace clear stamps (family), the sentiment is Woodware clear stamps (wedding) and the ribbon is from Poppicrafts. The chipboard heart is cut with the Cuttlebug (hippie chick die) and finished with tiny gems.
Mum has asked me to make another card which will be from her extended family, as they're all going out for a celebration meal on Saturday. I don't know about you but I find it very hard to make mutliple cards for the same person!! I think I'll do another vintage style card.

40th Wedding Anniversary card

It's my Aunt and Uncle's ruby wedding anniversary on Wednesday so i made this card today for mum to send. I still have my own to make and send, as well as a host of other things to do too! I just want to crawl into bed and go to sleep.....I know I'll feel better when I have it done though :) My cards never turn out the way I'd like them to, they're just not my 'thing' I think!

This card was made with paper from a 6"x6" K&Co pad (Classic K McKenna) a clear stamp (Laura Ashley). The deep pink card was punched with an x-cut punch to make a border. The ovals were cut with nestabilities (plain & scallop), the ribbon is cream cotton lace from Australia and it's finished off with some vintage buttons!

Photo Album covered in Bo Bunny papers

Another covered photo album!
I made this for a class in Paperworks craft shop in Dungannon using the gorgeous Bo Bunny papers. The flower embellishment was made using different size punched flowers held together with a bo bunny brad in the centre. I put stickles glitter glue (stardust) around the edges for a little sparkle. The word 'photos' was computer generated and the flourish border was a Personal Impressions stamp inked with Stazon timber brown and cut out. The paper flourishes were cut with the craft robo.

Matching Notebook and Pen

This is a little notebook and pen I covered yesterday. It was done in a hurry so probably needs a few wee finishing touches! I was using up some scraps I had from the photo frame (paper I cut but didn't use) and I love the matching pen it was so easy to cover. the flower is chipboard which I triple embossed with white embossing powder and I covered a chipboard circle to put on top. The heart is a little sticker and the word 'Notes' is stamped with teeny tiny letters :)

Thanks for looking :)

Ps. I will update the supplies list later when I have more time!

This is what happens.....

.....when you leave a 2 year old at your craft table for two minutes to get peas from the freezer for dinner!! I did warn her not to touch anything, but did she listen?

and the culprit!!
Phoebe is always wanting to 'craft' which I'm more than happy with (usually!) but today really took the biscuit :( She has a high stool at my table which she perches herself on 'to help me' and is normally well behaved and does what she is told - until today!
Richard came home a bit earlier from work and was making the dinner (lucky me;) so I took the chance to make a start on a project I'm thinking of doing for class next month. He asked me to bring in some peas for dinner, so I told Phoebe "now don't touch anything 'til I come back!" The lure of the stamp pad was obviously too much for her, for when I came back she was busy stamping to her hearts content on the chipboard I had cut (she had done both sides!) and my sanding block. I yelled "Phoebe!" and she jumped out of her skin and started crying (poor thing) so she got short shift back into the house to her dad. It could have been worse....fortunately she hadn't inked anything else on the table and not even a smidgen on her hands either. I've learned my lesson and won't leave her for even a second again :)

Elzybells Sketch Challenge #23

This is the first time I've entered a sketch challenge, but I loved Elizabeth's sketch from http://elzybells.typepad.com/my_weblog/2009/07/challenge-23.html and I needed to make a card for my nephew - Happy Birthday Harry!! So I thought I'd use the sketch and enter the finished card in the challenge!
I stamped the boy yo-yo twice, watercoloured with distress inks and cut out the cap, t-shirt, trousers, shoes and yo-yo from the second image and placed them on top of first image with 1mm and 2mm foam pads to give a 3D effect. I stamped the sentiment with black ink and broken china distress ink and punched it out with a circle punch. Then attached it with 1mm foam pads. The card candy (backless brads) were attached with silicone glue.

I've been making a lot of boy cards lately, mostly through necessity as I've got 10 nephews and only 3 nieces :) Still love to do girly cards though :)
I got side tracked with this card as it had to be mailed today but will have more pics of my TR album soon! Not enough hours in the day!!

Inside first page

Tag inside first page...
and what it looks like taken out...

This is the inside front cover and page 1.

The front covers are chipboard and the 4 inside pages are the cardboard tubes from the inside of toilet roll.

You just flatten the tube and stick down one end with double sided tape. Punch 2 holes with a hole punch (I used my cropadile) and you can put eyelets in to stop it tearing.

The papers are Nana's Nursery Girl and the cardstock is DCWV Christmas Cardstock (from a couple of years ago!) Cut a half circle with a circle punch at the top and insert your tag. Decorate in any way you like!

I'll try and finish page 2 today and post it tomorrow :)

A little peek......

Just thought I'd post a little snippet of my toilet roll holder album :)
It's about Lydia from before birth to age 12. I thought it was time I made something just for her! I always seem to be making books and scrapping Caleb and Phoebe because their baby photos are on the pc, but Lydia was born long before I had a digital camera, so I have to scan a lot of hers. Still haven't resized or printed them yet! but I'm getting there....

I will post more pics as I finish it.

If you like it and are in Northern Ireland, I am planning to take a class (using different papers and theme) in the autumn :) email me if you're interested!

I still have to finish my toilet roll holder album - (sounds gross :p) and I'll post some pics as soon as it's done.

Our Wedding Anniversary today...

'Marriage is not a word it's a sentence' is what my husband always tells me...... How nice! It's a wonder he's lasted 14 years with me isn't it!!!

He treated me today to a surprise lunch and a trip to a craft shop, so romance is not dead after all!! lol

I've started a Star Book of our wedding (better late than never :)) but i have only 3 pages completed so far. I'm posting the front cover and 1st page and maybe it'll spur me on to get it finished......

Altered Chipboard Daisies

I have to go to town now to buy new trainers for the children so will update this post later!!

Finally getting round to updating this post :)

The children got their new trainers and Caleb thinks he can now run faster than anyone! Oh what it would be to be 5 again :)

Back to the project above….. I really loved making this, Michelle from www.poppicrafts.co.uk has a ‘closing down part of her business sale’ on at the moment and she has some gorgeous items (I can’t resist them) I bought the 6” chipboard flowers to alter and had in mind a hanging frame (along with chipboard books, photo frames etc.)

I painted them with soft peach paint and covered the front with Fancy Pants ‘Delight’ paper, coloured rim buttons, blooms and various ribbons. The sentiment was from the fancy pants paper and I used baby ric rac ribbon to hang the top frame. The 2nd frame was attached with wire and ribbons to decorate. The word ‘family’ was cut with the Craft Robo. I cut the butterflies from K&Co ‘Wild Saffron’ paper and decorated with small pearls and liquid pearls. The 2nd one was decorated with glossy accents and sprinkled with glamour dust for a little bling!

Another bag and box

I made the green baby gift bag for our children to put their present in for baby Thomas. The tag is stamped to match the card I made earlier. The box was for my mum to put her present in. I cut the title 'baby' with the craft robo and punched the small stars with the funky star paper punch. I did some doodling with black pen to make the title stand out better (if you click on the picture you can see detail better). Then tied the box together with some organza ribbon. The box was made with 2 sheets of 12x12" card and scored using my Groovy Duo scoring board ( I love that board!!)
