My 'primitive', 'rustic', 'old-fashioned', 'country style' quilt!

Good afternoon everyone!

A while ago I showed a peek of the flannel quilt I was making
and although I finished it in March, I'm only getting the photos uploaded now,
so here it is!

I never know how to photograph quilts so I laid it over a bed....
The squares were machine sewn together but the hearts and stars and quilting were all sewn by hand.

I love the material on the back of the quilt and you can just about see the quilted shapes in this photo.

Just a close up of the hand stitching...it really was a labour of love and it'll be a while before I do it again :)
Thank you for stopping by today :)
I'll be back tomorrow with a card.
Take care,
Sarah xx

Oh my goodness Sarah your quilt is absolutely stunningly beautiful!!! I have total quilt envy!!!!. They are the exact colours & style that I would want for a quilt too (hint, hint!!!). I would love to make one but just would not even know where to start. I have a Singer sewing machine which I got recently from Create & Craft but am yet to master it. Any tips on how to get started are so appreciated Sarah!!!. You are such a multi talented lady. Hugs Clare xxx

Wow! This is so beautiful! How clever are you! I'd love to able to make something like this, but would'nt have a clue.

PS The wording on my wedding card was a Digi on a CD I had with a magazine ages ago x

Thats a gorgeous quilt Sarah! There's no way in the world I could make anything like that so I'm in awe of all the work that's gone into it. I'm sure it will be treasured by your family for many years to come.

WOW SArah, this is so beautiful and very "country", I attempted a quilt a few years ago, I'm afraid I gave up, so really admire your effort and finish quality. What a family treasure for future generations.

Just found your blog tonight, its always nice to find crafters here in NI! Your quilt is fantastic - know how you feel about the hand quilting though - the first quilt I made was for a king sized bed and I finished hand quilting it just a fortnight before my daughter was born!

Beautiful quilt! My mother in law was expressing how much she'd want to make one very similar to this on a Facebook post and I was trying to find a similar pattern but thought I'd ask you if you followed one and would be willing to share with us! :).
