Home Sweet Home

Good morning everyone!

It's time for a new challenge at Sweet Stampin' today
and it's also my final day as a guest designer...

I have really enjoyed the challenges this month and I'd like to thank all the Sweet Stampin' girls for making me feel so welcome :)

The challenge this week is 'scallops'

For this card I used the new Echo Park 'So happy together' paper pad
and the Dots & Stripes 'Soda fountain' essentials collection.
The image is from Squiggle Stamps coloured with Copics and the sentiment is a Kaisercraft stamp.
I doodled faux stitching around the squares with a Sigma Micron 02 black pen.

After making the card I realised that the roof of the house has scallops!
It wasn't intentional though lol.

Copic colours used - Yellows: Y21,Y17         Greens: G00,G21      Blues: B02,BG05
Pinks/Reds: RV10,R32,R35     Background: BG10       Blender: 0

I pierced 4 holes through the gingham ribbon and spotty paper and then added white brads to hold the ribbon in place.

There are some wonderful prizes to be won so click here for some inspiration and to link up your project.  Don't forget to include some stamping!

Thanks for stopping by today and a big hello to my new followers.
You're very welcome!
I'll have more projects to share soon and I'm going to introduce you to the newest member of our family......to those who know me ~ don't faint with shock when you see him! lol

Ribbons and Bows at Sweet Stampin'

Good Morning :)

That's another week gone already and I'm back to share with you my GDT card for

This week we'd like to see Ribbons and Bows on your projects.
It's another favourite theme for me as I just love adding ribbons to my cards:)

I made this one using Echo Park 'Life is Good' papers.

The little image is Daisy from Squiggle stamps and I've coloured her with Copics and paper pieced her dress and hairband with matching papers.
The flourishes are cut with the Cameo and the flowers are punched.
I added dots of Pebeo 3D paint at the bottom and around the top corner of the image.

The ribbon is wide pink satin and I tied some pink twine through a brown button and attached it to the bow with a glue dot.

There has been a serious lack of posts this week but I'm glad to say I'm finally getting on top of things.
The teachers' cards and gifts are now made and I'll post pics of them soon.
I'm off to a sewing class today to make another applique square for my quilt
but I'll be round to visit you all later!

Don't forget to link up your entries to the Sweet Stampin' challenge this week.
Hope you're having a good weekend :)
Take care

Fun in the sun at Sweet Stampin'

Good Morning,

That's another week flown by and I have my next GDT card for Sweet Stampin'

The theme this week is 'Summer Fun'

Looking at our British weather you might find it hard to remember what the sun looks like!

But let's brighten up our day with some fun summer cards :)

This is the one I made...

The little digi image was a freebie from Digistamp Boutique last year which I coloured with Copics.
Then I cut it out with rectangle nestabilities dies.
The patterned paper is one of my favourite summer papers and it's the 'Snorkel' collection
by Cosmo Cricket.
I cut the waves and the sun using the Silhouette. Then to finish off I tied baker's twine around the card and tied a bow through the button.

I added glossy accents to the goggles and sunglasses and some stardust stickles around the sun.

I have loads to try and catch up on today...I still haven't attempted the teacher's cards yet...
it's Father's day tomorrow and I haven't started that yet....
a graduation card for my nephew...
birthday cards....
I've a list as long as your arm and the more I look at it, the more tired I feel...
Do you ever get days like that?  Maybe I'm just in a lazy phase.....lol  :)

I hope you all have a great weekend and I'll be back on Monday to share my Father's day cards
(providing I get them made of course......)
All the best,
Sarah xx

Enjoy Your Day card ~ Penny Black stamp

Good Morning :)

It's my second GDT card for Sweet Stampin',
and this week it's another great challenge, one of my favourites :)

It's stitching!

We'd love to see some faux, hand or machine stitching on your projects.

I thought I'd try out one of the fancy stitches on my machine (they rarely get used otherwise)
but it looks like I'd definitely need more practise turning corners!
It's much easier to sew on fabric than card..... lol
Most of the elements I've used on this card, I've had for a while.
The papers are Bo Bunny 'Persuasion' and Bo Bunny 'double dot'
The image is this stamp by Penny Black and I coloured her with Copic markers.
Skin ~ E00, E11, R20       Hair ~ E29, E31, E57       Dress RV000, RV02, RV04 RV10, YG03, YG11
Shadow & Ground ~ BG10, C3, C5
Blender Pen 0

I stamped the image on white card and cut it out using Nestabilities Labels  8.
While the card was still in the die, I sponged around the edges with Tumbled Glass and Spun Sugar distress inks.
The sentiment is computer generated with 'atype' font, then I trimmed each word to the same size and added faux stitching around the edges.
The pink brads are Basic Grey and the ribbon is from my stash.

I added Glamour Dust to her jewellery, her bag, the bottom of her dress and the tails on her scarf.
Once I get started with a glue pen it's hard to stop!

I hope you enjoy my card today and will enter the challenge yourself.
I'd love to see what you create :)

Thank you for stopping by my blog today.
Have a great weekend  :)
Take care
Sarah xx

Howdy Cowgirl

As this is my 2nd post today
*Please scroll down for the Creative Craft World challenge, or click here*

Hello again!

I'm afraid my posts have been a little erratic lately, it's been a while since I had two in one day!

I have some exciting news to share today :)
A while ago the lovely Tracey over at Sweet Stampin' asked if I would like a months GDT spot
on the challenge blog and I was delighted to accept!
There are some fabulous challenges coming up and this weeks is no exception...

The theme is to 'use your favourite stamp'.

After much deliberation I've come to the conclusion ~  I've got too many favourites....
but I did narrow it down to Wryn and her little horse.

The background papers are DCWV ~ Green stack and I layered them on a 6x6" card blank.
I coloured the image with Copics and wrote down the colours but now I can't find the scrap of paper I wrote it on...
The buttons are from 'bag o buttons and the divine twine is from here.
I inked the edge of the oval with tumbled glass distress ink.

I arranged the sentiment on the curve of the oval using the Cameo and after printing, cut it out by hand.
The font is 'Oleo'

Why not take a minute to ink up your favourite stamp and upload your creation here!

Thanks again for visiting
and I hope you have a great holiday weekend :)

I'll be back during the week with a some cards, layouts and a little mini book.

Guest DT for Gingerloft Challenge

Good Morning!

I've scheduled this post for today, so I hope it works....

A few weeks ago I won a challenge at Gingerloft
and part of the prize was a guest spot on the design team for the challenge this week:)
Tami sent me this little koala image to use.
Isn't it cute !

and ....
they're giving it away free for you to use in this week's challenge :)

You can download it here.

I printed the image on card and coloured it with Copics.
I inked around the edges with Old Paper distress ink and matted it on white card.
Using a square of  bazzill (Cocoa) cardstock I embossed it with a wood effect embossing folder.
Then I tore it roughly around the edges.
Using a Cropadile I punched half circles at the top and bottom of  the base  card and tied hemp twine around it.
I printed the digi sentiment (also from Gingerloft) and cut the circles with Nestabilities,
then adhered them to the card with foam pads.

I hope you like it and take a minute to check out what the Gingerloft Design Team have made :)

Thank you for the lovely comments you've all been leaving me.
I really enjoy reading them, and some are very funny :)

Thanks for visiting and have a lovely day.
Take care :)
