Cards using CCW's July mini kit

Good morning everyone!

I've been missing for a while haven't I?
It's been very busy at home with the children and poor wee Mac (our puppy) has been very unwell
after a visit to the vet but I'll tell you more about it in another post.
I'm still very cross with the vet and don't want to say something I'll regret!

As it's the 20th of the month it's time for the new mini challenge at Creative Craft World.
This time instead of a mini book, I've made some cards.
You can get the mini kit here on CCW's website - it's a bargain at £7.99!

We'd love it if you made a card or project this month and entered it in our challenge here.

For this first card I decided to make it easel style.
There are lots of gorgeous flowers in the kit but I forgot to use them and made my own punched ones.
I found the pack of flowers under my scoring board when I was tidying up afterwards......

I found these Lili of the Valley images in one of my storage baskets and I think they were a free gift from a magazine (must have been ages ago!) and I can't remember which one.
I'm not usually a fan of fairies or angels on cards but I do think she's very pretty and I enjoyed adding glamour dust to her wings ;)
The brown ribbon and white card are from my stash and everything else is found in the kit.

Edited to add: I think I better clarify :)....angel & fairy images are not my favourites on cards...
but.... the tooth fairy is VERY popular and welcome in our house at the minute!

This next card is made using the card and papers in the kit.
I cut the butterfly with the Cameo and added seed beads to the body with glossy accents.

 I hand cut the banner and stamped the sentiment - I think it was a woodware clear stamp.

...and now for my first Christmas card this year!

It wasn't intentional though....the little image is another freebie and when I had her coloured I thought it looked quite Christmassy so I printed the sentiment on the computer and popped it on foam pads.

To give a little sparkle I added 3 red gems under the sentiment.
The ribbon, card and paper are from the kit.

The little image and sentiments on this next card are from DigiStamp Boutique.
The flowers and leaves are handcut and I rolled the flowers and twisted and tweaked them into shape.
I doodled lines on the leaves with a fineliner pen.

 The image is coloured with Copics.
The cardstock, papers and twine are from the kit.
I'd like to enter it in the Digistamp Boutique monthly challenge.

I really enjoyed making these cards and I'm pleased at how they turned out.
I hope you like them too :)

 we'd love to see what you make!

I hope to be back blogging properly very soon.
I have lots of projects to share but it's hard getting the time to upload them to the computer!
Thank you so much for your comments even though I haven't had time to reply back
I really do appreciate them :)
Have a lovely day
Hugs, Sarah

Best Friends ~ Lili of the Valley

Good Afternoon!

I hope your weather is as lovely as ours is here.
We've had sunshine all day :)

I've had a lovely morning shopping for fabric and got a few wee bargains too!
Thank you so much for all your lovely comments on my quilt yesterday :)
Clare if you'd like some help,  get in touch ~ sarahmcards@hotmail.com.

My card today is using papers and a stamp that I've had for ages
and I'd like to enter it in Lisa's (Wishcraft) Waste not Wednesday challenge.

 The papers are Laura Ashley and the image is from Lili of the Valley.
The lace and button I've had for ages too.
The flowers and leaves are cut out with the Silhouette.
After cutting the flowers, I crumpled them up, then opened them out and layered them.
Then sponged ink around the edges and added a pearl to the centre.

The sentiment is also by Lili of the Valley,
stamped using SU Elegant Eggplant marker and then layered on bazzill card.
I sponged the edges of the papers with Antique Linen distress ink.

Thank you for visiting again today :)
I'll be round tonight to catch up on some overdue commenting.....
'See you soon'

Footie Birthday Card

Hello!

Well you wouldn't know what kind of weather to expect here....
lovely and sunny in the morning and heavy hailstones in the afternoon!
It is sooooo cold....

 Nothing for it but to stay inside and craft  ;)

My card today is made using a pre-coloured image from Lili of the Valley
and the papers I've used are from a Me & My Big Ideas - 'Traveller' mat pad.

I wrapped green & white Baker's twine around the striped paper
and zig zag stitched around the whole card and also a little bit on the image.
The star is cut out in different sizes with the Silhouette Cameo and the sentiment is made using print & cut in the Studio design software.
The buttons are from my stash (bag 'o' buttons I think!)

and I think that's it!

I'm off to create something with my new Creative Craft World mini kit
for my next DT project.
Oh WOW! This kit is so beautiful, I think you'll want to have it ;)
It will be available from the 20th of this month.
~~~
 I overheard this conversation between Lydia (15) & Phoebe (5) yesterday...
Phoebe (in her sweetest voice) - 'Lydia....will you play the Wii with me?
Lydia - 'I can't at the moment wee pet, I want to I finish this'
Phoebe (dramatic change of tone) - 'aaarrrghh, I HATE you knitting!!'
I think we have a touch of knitting fever here.....!
I'm glad though, as it's for such a good cause.
Thank you for visiting,
I hope you have a lovely day whatever the weather!
Take care :)
Mother's Day
Good morning!
Hope you're all well :)
I was browsing the challenge blogs yesterday to try and get some ideas for a card for Mother's Day for my Mum.  This is way off the mark though as she doesn't like 'fussy' cards.....
but I hope she'll make an exception with this one :)
I couldn't help myself once I got started.....
The theme over at Sweet Stampin' is Layers with the option to use a sketch......which I did :)
I combined it with the challenge at Bunny Zoe's which is shabby chic/vintage. It's not my usual style so I hope it's ok!
Over at Papertake Weekly it's for girls/ or mum's.
At Creative Inspirations it's something for mum.
Celebrate the Occasion are looking for any occasion but you must use metal. I've used metal rose brads from American Crafts.
It's tic tac toe at Incy Wincy Designs,  I've used a  handmade flower, 2+ designer papers and sewing.
Make it Monday linky party have anything goes
and at Lili of the Valley it's ribbon and lace - hope I'm not too late for this one :)
The teddy bouquet image is stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and coloured with Copics.
Bear - E51, E31, E33......Flowers - R32, R85
Wrapping, ribbon & ground- YG91, YG95, BG93, BG96
The papers are SU Springtime Vintage and the layers are machine stitched with off white thread.
I made the flower by cutting a rough spiral from pink paper and rolling it, then letting it loosely unwind and adding a metal brad (American Crafts Dear Lizzy collection) to the centre.
The lace is from Creative Treasures
The butterfly is Martha Stewart and the flourishes are Marianne Creatables.
It's all layered on SU naturals cardstock cut to a 6"x6" card base.
Thank you for stopping by!
I'll be back tomorrow with....I don't know yet.....
possibly some sewing!
I made a tote bag on Saturday in the same fabric as the baby quilt.
Take care :)
Edited to add:  I needn't have worried about it being too fussy! Mum loved the card :)
Birthday card for a boy
Good morning :)
This is the card I made for Phoebe's little friend James.  She had a whale of a time at his party yesterday and ate lots of cake apparently - she's making up for her lost appetite at the beginning of the week!
I used the same set of Echo Park papers as on the last birthday card and another Lili of the Valley stamp.
The circles were cut with Nestabilies and I inked around the image with baby blue versacolor ink while it was still in the die. The sentiment is computer generated and the image is coloured with Copics.
 I hope you all have a great weekend, it's Lydia's birthday on Sunday so I'll have a girly card to share soon :)
Take care.
Boy birthday card
Caleb was invited to a birthday party on Saturday and I actually managed to make a card in time!
I used a Lili of the Valley stamp and coloured the image with Copics.  The paper is Echo Park - Little Boy layered on Bazzill kraft card. The sentiment is printed on the computer and coloured in with a Stampin' Up marker.
My 5 year old, Phoebe, has been off school for the past couple of days with a tummy bug and after pestering me for ages this morning I finally gave in and allowed her to paint with my Kaisercraft paint.   I gave her 1/2 a cup of water for rinsing her brush with strict instructions she was to be careful not to knock it over.  All went well until the end, she was writing her name at the top of the page (because that's what you have to do at school apparently!) and of course she knocked the dirty purple coloured water over - it hit the wall, the radiator, the table and the floor. While I was huffing and puffing and scolding she said......it would have been better if it had been yellowy white......then you wouldn't have seen it!
Thank you for visiting today and I'll be back tomorrow with more!
Easel card and matching bag - Birthday Set
Hello again :)
Today I have a birthday set to share.  The little girl  die cut is from Lili of the Valley and I inked around the edges with distress ink and matted it on MME 'So Sophie' paper.  In the photo the paper looks very brown but in reality it has a pinky /purple tinge. The flowers are Prima e-line and the felt leaves are Making Memories.
I don't make easel cards very often, mainly because I don't know where to put a verse or message!  For this one though, I added eyelets, tied string through both and tucked the little tag under - if that makes sense!
The matching bag is the same cutting file from My Time Made Easy, that I used to make the Christmas bags.  If you don't have a cutting machine you can buy the file in pdf format and cut it by hand.  I made the matching card box by cutting 2 sheets of A4 card to size and scoring them with my Groovy Duo scoring board.
I added lots of rolled flowers - I love making these and once I get started it's hard to stop!  They are made by cutting a rough circle with scissors, cutting it into a spiral and rolling it up from the outside to the centre.  Finish the end with a spot of glue to hold it all together.
I was at a patchwork class on Saturday learning to how make a flannel quilt.  When I was getting ready to go that morning, Caleb saw my material sitting on the table and asked, 'Oh are you making an old fashioned quilt today?'........ I think I'd rather call it 'rustic' :)
Thanks for joining me today and see you soon :)
Lydia's birthday card using Lili of the Valley
Hello again :)
A little later than anticipated, here is the card I made for Lydia before I went into hospital.  When I was at the NEC in November I bought some Lili of the Valley cute squares - tea & chat.  This is the first time I've used them and I know it definitely won't be the last.  They are so handy for a quick card.  I chose this little image because Lydia is always making me cups of tea and she is mad about making cupcakes - so this was perfect for her.
It was supposed to be a quick card but took a bit longer because when I went looking for lilac paper I realised it's not a colour I use much!  I finally found some in the Nana's Nursery Baby Boy paper pad and it matched perfectly.  I also found a purple crochet flower I had made months ago during a crocheting phase!  I can't even remember how to make it now as I followed a YouTube video at the time. I think I'll have to look it up again.
The sentiment is computer generated using Arial Narrow and Chopin Script fonts.
I added a little lilac ink to the edges of the paper flower and added sparkle to the tips with Stardust stickles glitter glue.  There is a little papermania pearl in the centre of the crochet flower. The leaves are punched using Woodware grass punches and the little pin is from sugar and spice crafts.  The seam binding ribbon is from creative treasures and the little butterfly is punched using a Martha Stewart punch.
Thanks for visiting today!
Belated Happy New Year :)
I had written this post a month ago on the 20th December and just needed to add photos - it got put on hold and I'm only getting back to it now! I thought I'd post it anyway....
Hi again!
At last I'm back with some projects...
It's been a bit horrendous here as the children have taken sick one after the other and I seem to have been continually washing bedding, pyjamas and floors :( and to top it all, my tumble dryer has burnt out with all the usage....
Anyway! here are the Christmas cards, some treat boxes and bags for the teachers.  They are not matching sets this year as they were made in fits and starts.
Some other news!
I went to the Hobbycrafts show in the NEC in Birmingham at the beginning of November with some friends and while I was there I did a fab Sizzix make and take.  At the stand you were able to fill out a form with your details to be entered into a competition to win a Sizzix Big Shot, Doctor's Bag and Dies.
I thought no more about it and on the Monday after the show, I got a call from Pete at Sizzix to say I had won!!!
The parcel arrived very quickly and I have to say I love the Big Shot :)  I love the fact that it doesn't wobble or move when you're passing the dies through it.  I use my Cuttlebug plates with it though as I can't get used to the multipurpose platform that comes with it!
 Sizzix die - Merry & Bright (part of the prize I won)
Front of the bag
The bag is made with 2 sheets of white A4 cardstock
Sizzix die - stocking
 The mouse is an Elzybells stamp
This little box was cut out with the Craft Robo.  I bought the file from My Time Made Easy but the measurements were a bit off so with the help of hubby, we soon had it sorted. I made a small version to hold sweets  but you can make it bigger.
The choir singers stamp is from Lili of the Valley
The poinsettia was cut with the Craft Robo, edged with Snow Cap dabber and layered.
The centre is done with Pebeo 3D paint.
 The mouse is an Elzybells stamp
Another Elzybells stamp
 The skater is a Lili of the Valley stamp
 I used Stardust stickles for the fur trim on her coat and hat and on the ice.
The flourishes are cut with a Marianne die.
Because they were made quite a while ago I can't remember some of the papers used but I'll post a list of some supplies later on today.
Sorry it's been so long for this update.  My health is still not as it should be but I'm having an operation next month and I hope I will be right as rain after that with a few weeks recovery time:)
Thank you for your patience!
Cards using Lili of the Valley stamps
 I am loving Lili of the Valley stamps :)  I think they're really cute and lovely to colour in.
The papers on this card are from the Dovecraft christmas pack (not sure what it's called....)
and the image is coloured in with Copics.  I'm realising I should be making a note of the colours I use so I'll be doing that in future :)
This is a birthday card for my little nephew Oliver who was 6 yesterday :) It's another Lili of the Valley stamp
and the papers are 3 Bugs in a Rug (snips & snails I think...)
Better run, I'm going to the Christmas Craft Fair in The Argory (National Trust House) today and I should have been ready ages ago!  Will post again soon with Christmassy things:)
Thanks for visiting today
