4 cards using CCW's November Mini kit

Hello again!
I just remembered last night that I had to post these cards for the new mini challenge at
We've been so involved with the Christmas Countdown that the regular challenges have been a bit forgotten about.
We'd love you to take a moment and enter your projects.

Lou very kindly sent me this month's mini kit to have a play with and with the gorgeous mix of colours, I was able to make a male card as well as more feminine cards.

This cute little mouse is from The Paper Shelter, the sentiment is a Daisy Bucket stamp and the brad is K&Co.

The sentiment on this card is computer generated using 'LoosieScript' and the oval is cut with Nestabilities.

I 'm sorry I can't remember the make of this stamp.  To save on space I removed all my stamps from their wooden blocks and I never made a note of the names!
It's coloured with Koh-i-Noor woodless pencils.
The button is by Fancy Pants and I tied twine through it.
The brads were stuck on with pinflair glue gel after I removed the pins from the back of them.
I find that if I'm placing brads close together on card it can be hard to get them in a straight line.
Also the card crinkles when I pierce holes closely together so I find gluing them on gives a neater finish :)
The sentiment is computer generated using 'PhontPhreak's Handwriting'.

The flower stamp on this card is by Elzybells and the button is American Crafts.
Everything else is from the kit.

Thank you for reading both my posts today,
I'm a little behind in my commenting but I will be round to visit you soon :)
I  hope you have a lovely day
and if you pop back tomorrow, I'll have a link to Sue's project.

Take care,
Sarah xx

Stamping on Kraft card

Good Morning  :)

I love the effect of stamping and colouring on Kraft card
so when I had the Elzybells stamp out for the thank you cards I made,
I whipped this one up too.

The sentiment is a Unity stamp inked with Elzybells white pigment ink
and stamped on a piece of scrap cardstock.
When the ink dried, I matted it directly onto the base card
and then I drew around it with an inkssentials white pen to highlight it.
I coloured the flowers with Koh-i-noor pencils,
then tied a bow with paper string from East of India
and added it to the card with a glue dot.

If I've scheduled this properly, then right now I'll be sewing
what I hope will resemble a large teddy bear!

So, I wish you all a very happy weekend
and I'll be back soon :)
Take care

Simple thank you card

Good morning!

I was asked to make a couple of simple thank you cards and these were super quick to make.

I made the card base 6x6" and cut another panel 5x5" and embossed 3 lines near the bottom of it.
I covered the lines with a yellow post it note and using a stamp-a-ma-jig for placement
I stamped a row of flowers.
The stamps are Elzybells and I coloured the flowers with Koh-i-noor pencils (without blending).

I love the simple effect of twine and I tied it twice around the card and finished with a bow.
Then layered the stamped card onto the base card with foam pads.

I changed the colour of the twine for the second card,
and I also added a little bit of glamour dust to the flower centres.

Hope you have a lovely St Patrick's weekend
and thanks for visiting today!

Happy Birthday - Daisy with balloon

Hello again everyone :)

I'm pleased to say Phoebe has fully recovered and I'm getting a little crafting time again. Isn't it funny when they're sick they won't let you out of their sight and when they're better they 'don't need you anymore'  as Phoebe said to me yesterday - that's gratitude isn't it!! She also asked me what age I was and when I told her I was 39 she said, 'oooh that's a BIG number isn't it?' so it really was a 'make mummy feel good day'....lol

On to today's card...  I downloaded this little Daisy image from Squiggle stamps and I think she's so cute...
I coloured her with Koh-i-noor pencils and matted on to bubblegum bazzill cardstock. The DP's are Doodlebug design and the ribbon is from Poppicrafts - some of their ribbons are still available on ebay even though the online shop has closed.  The die cut corners are from this Tim Holtz atc die and the sentiment is computer generated using Boring Joined font.  I added glossy accents to the balloon and sprinkled with Glamour Dust.

Thank you for joining me today and I hope to share some more projects soon.  I'm working on a little mini book for Phoebe and a cupcake book for Caleb.

Teacher thank you card - LIM

Hello again!

I'm afraid I couldn't resist the challenge over at the Less is More blog and my nephews' cards are still waiting to be made... The challenge this week is to make a one layer card with embossing!
For some reason in my photos the embossed oval looks as though it didn't imprint properly but looking at the card now - it did! Maybe the camera's picking up something I can't see.....!
It's about a month and a half now until the children finish school for the summer holidays and I'm having to think about teachers cards & gifts... This challenge was just perfect to get me started.

 heat embossed image

It's very simple to make -
I embossed the background with an oval nestabilities die.
Then stamped the Messy rabbit schoolhouse stamp with pinecone versacolor ink, added clear detail embossing powder and heat embossed. I used the stamp-a-ma-jig to position the stamp but I think it's still tilted a little to the right....
I stamped the sentiment using Woodware clear stamps with cardinal red versacolor ink and again heat embossed with clear detail embossing powder.
I coloured the image with Koh-i-noor pencils, paper stumps and Sansodor solvent.

Looking at it again I'm not too sure it needs a sentiment....

Thanks for visiting again and for all your comments - they mean a lot to me!

7th Birthday

Good morning :)

A special birthday card for a special boy today. I love this little stamp although this is the first time I've inked it up. Too many stamps as my Mum would say to me..... Mum's not a crafter so fails to understand why I buy more.....and more.... She indulges me though and brings home a suitcase full of goodies every time she visits Australia - Thanks Mum!

Anyway, back to this card...

A close up of the curled edges

The patterned paper is Cosmo Cricket Joy Ride and the stamp is from Elzybells (which sadly closed down) I paper pieced the boy using blocks of colour from the large spot paper and chalked the edges with brown chalk before gluing on the image.  The rest I coloured with copics and inked the edges with Frayed Burlap distress ink. To add detail to the t-shirt I found a little star stamp (studio g) which I stamped in matching paper and glued on the front.  The sentiment is computer generated using Splendid 66 & Indy Pimp fonts.  The buttons are from my stash and I tied East of India twisted paper string through the holes.

I better go now and blow dry my hair and hang some washing out as Phoebe will be home from Nursery shortly and I'll not have a minutes peace.

Have a great day wherever you are!

Mum's card for Mother's Day

Hello again

Can you believe I'm doing another post within hours of the last!  I seem to be all or nothing......  I did manage to get Mum's card done in time thankfully.  This is the first card I've made using a digital stamp and I have found it easier than I ever expected. This beautiful rose image is from A Passion for Stamps

The base card is 15x15cms and I embossed 2 lines around the edge at 0.5cm and 1cm using the Scorpal board. Next I printed the sentiment (using wordart, curly joe & diehl deco fonts) and the roses on white card and cut to size (12.5x12.5cms) and coloured them using Koh-i-noor pencils and Sansodor oil.  I printed the roses again on white card, coloured some of the petals and cut them out.

After shaping the petals I glued them 3D using Pinflair glue gel.  Then added glossy accents along the edges of all the petals and sprinkled with glamour dust. I added 3 clear gems under the sentiment and using foam pads popped the finished square onto the base card.

And because I'm newly fangled with digital stamps (love getting a perfect image), I added the roses image again to the insert under the verse (callie font) and coloured it in :)

Thanks for visiting today, I should (hopefully) have more cards this week!

I'm entering this card to the ABC Challenge blog and the theme is R for Roses.

Another thank you card

I can't believe it's been a week since I last posted anything.......!  I have been making cards but can't show you them until Sunday - they're for Mum's birthday and I'm afraid she might look at the blog before then.

I did make a card this morning but I've just remembered I left the camera in the car and Richard is away to work in it, so I can't take a photo 'til he comes home!  I've also been sewing a sock creature but again no camera for a photo.....

I made this Thank You card a few weeks ago using Bazzill Kraft cardstock.  The various stamps are by Heidi Grace (flowers & sentiment) and Papermania (tag & scallop border).  It is coloured with Koh-i-noor pencils and Sansodor oil.

Thanks for visiting today and if you stop by tomorrow, I should have some pics of my sock creature :)

Mother's Day card for Mum

Hi again!

Sorry I've been so lax in updating my blog but the truth is I've been so tired and unwell, I haven't been able to do much crafting.  I've had some blood tests done and it turns out I'm very anaemic and need an iron infusion at hospital some time soon. Hopefully that give me the boost I need!

I did manage to make this card for Mum for Mother's Day. She's always there for me and I love her to bits.

The image is a Unity stamp coloured with Koh-i-noor Pencils and Sansodor Oil. The double sided designer paper is by Memory Box and the retro flowers are punched (using the other side of the paper) and a brad pushed through the centre.  The fern leaves are punched with a McGill punch and the sentiment is from Elzybells.  The green strip is Bazzill embossed dots card and the edges are punched with a Martha Stewart scallop dot edger punch.

Thanks for visiting :)

Sugar Nellie - Hamish

It's my little nephew's birthday today so it's a change from making christmas cards :)

I've had this stamp for ages and I love it. The Harlequin paper is by Artic Frog and I embossed the red card with a circles cuttlebug folder (can't remember the name!) The number 5 is cut with the red tag sale die and the embossed score lines are done with the scorpal. The image is coloured with Koh-i-Noor pencils.

Thanks for looking :)

Christmas tree card

Another A5 card again, I never really make this size as I always thought it too big to fill but I think I'm getting used to it.

The Christmas tree is a Little Claire stamp which I stamped and cut out with the circle nestability die. I stamped it again on white card, coloured it with Koh-i-Noor pencils, cut it out and layered on top of the other tree with silicone glue. I curled the leaves/branches? under a bit before sticking down. Then using a quickie glue pen I put glue along the edges and sprinkled with iridescent glitter. A few gems were added to finish it off.

The sentiment is computer generated using impervious font.

Meryl if you happen to be looking at this, I hope it gets to you on time!! Posting it today...
